Simple Forex Tester is a great piece of software that enables backtesting within MT4, it even has multiple time frame capability, the perfect tool for practicing ICT's OTE Strategy.
For some reason since they updated MT4 its stopped working altogether.
Also, the developer, a switched on guy by all accounts, has stopped answering support emails, how strange!
My initial reaction was that Metatrader conspired to put a stop to it, however, I would have expected the developer to have fixed the problem.
Of all the software that has been tried, the best for backtesting forex market is Forex Tester V2, to buy the software you can use a credit card to pay it and the process is not long, after you pay you are required to register your unique computer code to be registered by them , therefore this software can only be used in 1 computer ONLY and can not be installed on another computer.
If you want to install the software is another computer you have to buy a new license again to the company. I do plan on backtesting some new forex strategies, I myself will not use a small timeframe so just use 4hr and daily time frames because the timeframe below is very vulnerable to spikes by high impact news that causes the price movement to be abnormal.
Unfortunately this software does not have mac osx version so want ga want to install VMware first to be used. I like this software because the data provided is very accurate and the ease in trying some new strategies.
